Day 19 - A photo of me on a school trip
Technically, this isn't a photo of a school trip but it is of a school organization trip. I was in Allied Youth (AY) from grade 9 until grade 12. It was AY that brought me out of my shell and allowed me to feel like I was part of something where I was welcome and could be myself without feeling left out, as I often did in school. This particular photo was taken in 1997 at summer camp. With the friends I met through AY, I had so much fun, acted silly (as you can see in this picture - our "Got Milk" interpretation), and did things I wouldn't have had the chance to otherwise, like actually take part in activities, dances and take on a leadership role without getting involved in drugs or alcohol. Most of all it just was plain fun. P.S. That's me, front row, second from the right.
