The 30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 27

Day 27 - A photo from last summer

This photo was taken this past June on Father's Day. It was Sofia's first trip to the beach. It was actually one of the first times she spent any time outside. As you can see, she wasn't all that happy about it, but it was still a fun day. We went exploring and enjoyed the beautiful day as a new family.

The 30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 26

Day 26 - A photo of my favourite weekend
I originally had a different photo posted for this day, but after thinking about it I had to change it. This photo was taken on a weekend I will never forget. Four of us, Michael, Dominik, me and Joanna (not shown), had tickets to the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta. We camped at a campground in a tiny town called Ferintosh, just south of Camrose. We went swimming and exploring and just enjoyed each others' company. We never got to go to the concert because a huge storm came through with winds that knocked down the stage. During the storm we were in our car waiting it out, while branches blew down around us. The fact that we missed out on the concert did not matter though, because we had more fun sitting in the car playing cards anyway. The people of Ferintosh were incredibly nice and even offered us beds to sleep in, which we turned down but were very grateful for the offer. The rest of the weekend was just as fun. We had a campfire and traveled to Edmonton to the West Edmonton Mall World Waterpark. I also remember the last night we were there, laying in the grass and doing cartwheels by the lake. It was so dark we couldn't see a thing, and the rain was coming. It's one of the last memories I have of a completely carefree time, before moving and baby and extra responsibilities.

The 30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 25

Day 25 - A photo of a night I loved
Of course the one night in my life that stands out in my mind is my wedding night, and this photo sums it up: Michael and I happy and surrounded by everyone we love. It was a magical night. We danced our feet off and caught up with old friends and family, and well, it ended much too soon. Photo by Dave Wheeler.

The 30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 24

Day 24 - A photo where that your hair looks good in
I took this photo right after I got my hair cut and dyed in 2008. I think it looks great. It is very similar to how I have my hair right now.

The 30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 23

Day 23 - A photo of my friend(s) as a baby
One day late, but here is the best photo I could easily access. My friends and I are not babies in this picture, but we are in kindergarten at our graduation in 1987. Ah, the memories. I'm not friends with all of these people now, but I have kept in touch with many of them thanks to Facebook. Sometimes it's fun to look back and see what we were like as children. Can you pick out me in this picture?

The 30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 22

Day 22 - A photo of my town
I had to do a Google search to find this photo, so I can't take credit for it. I haven't lived here long enough to have taken many photos of things other than in my own house. The website I found the photo at also says: The town's motto, "The Heart of the Wheat Belt" reflects its history of being a farming community. On September 14, 1905, James and Anne Rose migrated from Lancashire, England to Saskatchewan. They were the first settlers in the area now known as Rosetown. Later, in 1907, a group of people from the area, wanting a post office, made an application for one. As a name had to be given to the post office, the group decided to dedicate it to the towns most senior settlers, the Roses. As the name "Rose" was already taken, the group added "town" to it to create "Rosetown". The Post Office opened on September 7, 1907.

So far, in the six months I have lived here, I am pretty happy. It's a quiet town with lots of families and everyone has been very welcoming. We will probably be here for a few years, so I better like it!

The 30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 21

Day 21 - A photo of me standing up
Ah Jamaica. I love Jamaica. This photo was taken on our honeymoon, the day we left to come home. I could look at that blue blue ocean forever. I would go back there in a split second. That week was was of the most fun weeks of my life. We relaxed, we went on amazing adventures and we took in every perfect moment. The smell and sound of the ocean, the music, the people, the sunsets. Everything about it was perfect.
